The SRCOOL12K by Mansfield, Texas-based Information Support Concepts provides 12,000 BTU of cooling and does not require a water-collection tank. The unit, priced at about $700, can be wheeled around the technical floor to wherever extra cooling capacity is needed and cold air can be directed through a 71-inch flexible tube directly to the hot spot.
It uses R410a refrigerant. The need for a water-collection tank is eliminated by the use of a built-in evaporator, which expels condensate into the exhaust air stream.
In addition to the flexible tube, the standard attachment package includes louvered and directional front vents, a hot-exhaust-air removal tube and a dropped-ceiling or window heat-ventilation kit.
The unit has a built-in timer, which enables it to be programmed for automatic start-up and shut-down. |
