US provider of data center services Entracloud has launched a new data center in southern California. Located in Rancho Bernardo and called World Trade Drive Data Center, the carrier-neutral facility adds to a roster of three data centers around the country.
Entracloud CEO Dave Wiedmaier said in a statement the facility was SAS 70 Type II certified, which ensures it upholds certain control and safeguard standards required for compliance by its customers. “We provide services to companies whose day to day operations depend on their infrastructure running properly.”
Opening of the data center follows relocation of the company’s headquarters to nearby Carlsbad in January. The provider plans to relocate some of its customers’ infrastructure to the new facility as well, starting with about 100 clients.
Entracloud is offering individual cabinets, cages or custom suites at the new 88,000-sq-ft facility. The company will also provide its internet, hosted-voice and managed-data services there.
Power comes through two utility feeds and is backed up by two 2MW generators and Entracloud is offering power densities of about 16kW per rack. The facility uses outside air to supplement its cooling capacity.
Entracloud’s other data centers are in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Dallas. New sites in Las Vegas, Atlanta and New York are in the works.
