A number of data center vendors made product announcements yesterday in conjunction with the AFCOM Data Center World Expo in Orlando. here’s a roundup:

Eaton Corporation today announced the Energy Saver System, a technology the company says enables large, three-phase uninterruptible power systems (UPS) to operate at 99 percent without sacrificing reliability. The Energy Saver System uses an intelligent “power core” to adapt to incoming power conditions. Whenever the high-speed line-detection circuitry in the UPS senses a change in condition, the system automatically can operate in the optimal mode – standard, double-conversion, high alert or storm detection mode. Eaton’s Energy Saver System is currently available as an option for the Eaton 9395 and 9390 UPSs. Existing 9395 and 9390 units may also have the capability to upgrade to the Energy Saver System.

Wright Line today launched a suite of solutions for total aisle containment, including both hot aisle and cold aisle containment approaches. The suite includes the company’s Heat Containment System (HCS), as well as end-of-row doors, end-of-row curtains and aisle containment ceilings. the Wright Line solutions feature modular, building-block designs which can address hot aisle or cold aisle environments, and be used separately or in combination. “Every data center has unique issues of concern. We don’t advocate one solution over another. said Carl Cottuli, Wright Line’s Vice President of Product Development and Services. Rather, we work with data center professionals to audit current operations and then develop a comprehensive airflow management strategy that makes the most sense for that facility.”
