LOCKPORT — As public hearings and final local approvals are expected today for the
Yahoo! data center project, the company submitted a revised building plan Monday, with fewer
buildings and slightly less square footage.
A joint session of the Town Board and Planning Board heard Orest P. Ciolko of the Wendel
Duchscherer engineering firm present a 180,000-square-foot, six-structure plan to replace the
191,000-square-foot, 11-structure plan the boards previously saw.

Ciolko also said the complex, which is to be laid out northwest to southeast, is being
rotated about 10 degrees clockwise.
"That has to do with the prevailing winds during the months we need cooling," Ciolko said.
Computer modeling by Yahoo!'s designers realigned the pods so the prevailing winds will blow directly into louvers on the sides of the buildings.
